During the program’s first three years, core courses will enable you to develop key knowledge and skills, with additional specialised information provided through your selected majors. These skills are integrated in the fourth year through an interdisciplinary, practical, team-oriented approach to learning. You will also have the opportunity to develop a practical understanding of environmental management through off-campus experience with employers.
This program gives you the flexibility to exit after three years with the Bachelor of Science (Environment) or to complete the fourth year and obtain the Bachelor of Environmental Management.
You will select an area of specialisation from the following majors (subject to approval):
Environmental Protection
You will learn about the interactions between human health and the environment, and how to minimise the impact of environmental factors on the health of the public and the natural environment, creating healthy communities and healthy ecosystems.
Environmental Sustainability
You will learn about how people interact with the environment, including how decisions are made about managing the environment; locally, nationally and globally. As a graduate, you will play a key role in helping society move towards an environmentally sustainable future.
Natural Resources and Pollution
You will learn about the chemical and physical aspects of the natural environment and the impacts of human waste and pollution on soil, water and air. You will eventually work in pollution monitoring and other aspects of the environment to predict the effects of humans and to minimise their impact.
