What’s the story behind ACS?

Believe it or not, ACS started in the basement of a house. In 1990 Chris Leach and his wife Tina founded ACS when a seemingly unfortunate series of events, brought on by the recession, forced Chris to find a new way to pay the mortgage.

It was during this trying time that Chris saw an opportunity in the aircraft charter market. Working tirelessly in getting the newly founded ACS off the ground, it was by chance that Chris and his wife took in a boarder named Justin Bowman. As fate would have it, Justin turned out to be an extremely bright and passionate aviation student. Chris knew that there was something special about the young Justin and asked him if he would do his industrial internship at ACS.

The rest, as they say, is history. The company has grown to over 400 employees with offices across six continents; and Justin has recently been promoted to CEO.

How does ACS support the future of aviation?

ACS offers aviation scholarships and student grants, as well as internships, to passionate students who want to establish themselves as industry leaders in aviation. By providing financial support to ambitious, young learners, ACS aims at fostering the next generation of aviation experts – a generation of professionals trained to develop innovative technical solutions enabling a more sustainable future.
