The course explores local, regional, national and international issues of sustainability and stewardship of national resources. Students are exposed to issues associated with local ecosystems including the Great Barrier Reef and Wet Tropics World Heritage Areas, and gain an appreciation of these outstanding regional natural assets within a global context, and the roles that local communities may have in contributing to stewardship.
The Master of Education (Sustainability) is suitable to individuals with an interest in:
- Teaching and learning (eg. teachers and trainers who focus on sustainability);
- Interpretation (eg. tour operators, park rangers, visitor centre staff);
- Fostering sustainable practices and behaviours.
