Open your mind to a new world

Open Day is the main opportunity for visitors to come onto campus to see the facilities and talk to academics, current students, and graduates about both study and career options.

Griffith Student Recruitment manager Michelle Wear said visitors would be able to tour things like the multimedia computer laboratory at the Nathan and Gold Coast campuses, and see the Animation and Film School students work at Southbank.

I think one of the real highlights will be the opportunity to try the flight simulators, as part of Griffith’s aviation program

Michelle said student representatives from the Griffith Honours College – a unique program for high-achieving students – would be available to talk about their experience of being groomed to become the leaders of tomorrow.

“There will be a Student Experience panel session held on each campus, where current students will talk about getting into uni, doing well at uni and activities and services available to new students.

“If you are interested in Marine Science or Marine Biology you can visit the salt water touch tank at the Gold Coast campus and find out about some fascinating sea creatures and degrees we offer.

“Or check out the Law School’s International Vis Moot team in action at the Nathan campus.”

Other activities and sessions will include a lively and topical debate about politics presented by the Griffith Business School at Nathan campus, and an introductory overview of the School of Medical Science at the Gold Coast.

Meanwhile, radio station B105 will be setting up at Nathan and South Bank campuses and Hot Tomato will have live-crosses and giveaways at the Gold Coast campus.

“For a bit of fun, come and have your photograph taken going through the Griffith Portal, and go in the draw to win an iPad,” Ms Wear said.

“Open Day is your opportunity to come onto campus and find out about our programs and their possible career outcomes.

“You can build your own Open Day program or itinerary online at Griffith’s Open Day website, which will make it much easier to fit everything in on the day.”

Open Day will be held across Griffith’s Gold Coast, Nathan and Southbank campuses from 9am to 2pm on Sunday, August 8.

There will be regular Open Day updates on Griffith’s Facebook , Twitter and You Tube sites. These will include highlights, photos and videos from the day.

If you are in the neighbourhood or interested in further study, come along to Open Day and see what doors could open for you.
