Students develop a range of skills and knowledge in areas of animal health, nutrition, breeding and laboratory procedures.

Students will study:

  • anaesthesia in animals
  • analyse data and interpret results
  • animal health and wellbeing
  • aseptic techniques
  • behavioural enrichment
  • breeding procedures
  • general care of animals
  • nutrition of research animals

While undertaking this qualification, the learner will have access to an animal technology workplace through a period of work placement or work experience.

Entry Requirements:

Australian Year 12 (or recognised equivalent) or relevant work experience. IELTS 5.5 or higher (or recognised equivalents). Mature Age students are encouraged to apply.
