Murdoch University was established in 1973 as a research university. It is approximately 20 minutes by car (15 kilometres) from Perth’s city centre and 10 minutes (eight kilometres) from the port city of Fremantle. The University is committed to the pursuit of excellence and has an international reputation for quality teaching and research.

The total student population at Murdoch is over 18,000, with 3,000 international students coming from more than 100 different countries.

Murdoch takes pride in the fact that it has some of the best qualified academic staff in Australia. Almost 70 per cent hold a PhD qualification, compared with the Australian average of 50 per cent. The University also prides itself on the caring attitude of staff, who give students the extra support and attention they need to succeed.

Murdoch provides state-of-the art facilities, great student services and a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
