The Bachelor of Aquaculture is a multidisciplinary course providing students with training in 24 subjects, leading to comprehensive knowledge of the aquaculture and aquatic environmental industries and related fields. Study streams include aquatic biology, aquatic animal culture (fish, mollusc, crustaceans, live foods), aquatic animal reproduction, microbiology and histology of aquatic animals, aquatic animal health and diseases, seafood processing and food safety management, aquaculture engineering, aquatic environmental management, business management and marketing, industry placement and applied research.

This degree has a strong vocational focus to support the solid theoretical foundations of the course, and therefore all elements are supported by practical applications. The promotion of sustainable aquaculture development is a central aim of this program.

Entry requirements- International students:
Successful completion of Year 12 VCE/HSC or recognised equivalent with Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics, or Successful completion of a TAFE Diploma course in aquaculture, or Mature age entry where applicants can demonstrate capacity to undertake work at degree level. Bridging programs are available in January/February in mathematics, chemistry and biology. An additional requirement for international students is International English Language Testing System (IELTS) Level 6.0.
