The Government and Commercial Stream of the Masters Program at the ANU College of Law offers a unique opportunity to select from a wide range of quality courses in both public and private law.

The program reflects the growing intersection of commercial and government law and offers topics in areas including Administrative Law, Constitutional Law, General Commercial, Contracts, Corporate Law and Global Governance/Development.

The Masters Program (Government and Commercial Law) allows students to combine any choice of courses to create their own ‘program’ or to select courses that centre around a particular theme. We include some general suggestions for such themes below. Please note not all courses are offered every year and different courses will be offered in future years, available to students commencing the program part time. Students with a non-law background must complete Fundamentals of Government and Commercial Law.

The Masters Degree requires all students to complete courses totalling 48 units, with at least 36 units from the Government and Commercial Law stream.

Entry Requirements:
Applicants from a law background: Applicants must hold an Australian Bachelor of Laws degree or equivalent. A strong pass degree or better is normally required for admission.

Applicants from a non-law background: Applicants must hold at least a three-year Australian Bachelors degree or equivalent. A strong pass degree or better is normally required for admission.

Applicants who do not hold a bachelors degree: Applicants with relevant experience but who do not hold a bachelors degree may be considered for entry, however there are additional entry requirements. For further details please contact the Postgraduate Administrator.
